Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Chennai-based Indian woman who was born September 1, 1970. Her parents divorced after she turned 2 years old. Her mother fled India to avoid the stigma associated with divorce in India and moved to the United States. Lakshmi was a part of her grandparents from Chennai for two years before moving with her mother to the United States. Both of her parents later got married and she also has a younger half-brother and half-sister on the father's side. Lakshmi's last name is associated with the Hindu goddess, prosperity and wealth. She was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles. She went to India each year for a few months to visit her family. Padma Lakshmi became interested in acting in 1999. The first film she appeared in was "Figlio di Sandokan" which was a film about an Italian pirate. Then she was cast in "Caraibi" (Pirates: Blood Brothers) that is a period drama about 17th century pirates. In 2001, she played an amusing part in the American film 'Glitter' as a disco singer. Padma has a child, Krishna Thea Lakshmi Dell along with Adam Dell. Adam Dell is a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on February 20, the 20th of February, 2010. She was also wed to Teddy Forstmann who is the former chairman and CEO of IMG. Lakshmi and American venture capitalist Adam Dell have a daughter, Krishna. Lakshmi revealed that her baby's father is Dell. She told her daughter that "everything is better with them around." "Anything from the start of the day until the end. I don’t have much interest in any other then her.
