Maureen O'Hara Biography
Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actor and singer and songwriter, both of Irish descent. The green-eyed beauty sporting flaming hair was popular by her passionate and fiery parts in numerous American films. Her beautiful and glamour was highly praised and she was referred to as the 'Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her roles on screen reflect her strong, brave spirit which fought to survive and gain recognition in a male-dominated world. She always called herself the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her respect and reputation to land the roles she was entitled to through merit. She stood up for injustices and unfair treatment of women actors throughout her film career. She also gained a lot if admirers. Her autobiography, "Tis herself", published in 2004 gave a candid review of her life , including the struggles she faced to climb the ladder to success. She was an adventurous person who was not frightened of performing her own stunts. Over the years, she starred in more than 60 films, and gained an enormous amount of fame throughout the world. In the wake of Parra, she remarried again in 1968 with Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier and chief pilot and a pioneer of transatlantic aviation, just to mention some of the accomplishments. O'Hara retired just a few years after they got married. The joy she felt was only temporary as Blair lost her life in a devastating plane crash in 1978. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer in the same year, and had surgery immediately. She recovered eventually. The health of her declined over the years and she was later diagnosed with six heart attacks as well as short-term memory loss, as well as diabetes mellitus type 2. O'Hara, at 95 years aged, passed away peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on the 24th of October , 2015.
