Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She began in the business when she was just 4 years old with commercial work as well as voice overs. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) was followed by Another World (1964) where she played "Rain Wolfe", a child discovered in a park, who was taken care of and nurtured by Josie. Sarah would work with Amy Carlson ("Josie") at least a couple of times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast to play the role of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). The following year, she was also named "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). It starred Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Sarah studied voice as well as tap, jazz, and hip-hop as well as film and TV work. Sarah, a New Yorker, also appeared as an invited performer in her tap and Theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. She was home schooled by her mother from 2nd grade and then attended Public School. In 6th grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) in which she remained until 2008 when she graduated. When Sarah was 18 then she moved to Los Angeles, CA and, within two weeks, was able to get a pilot name "My American Family". Once picked up the name was changed to Modern Family (2009). Sarah currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
