Sofia Margarita Vergara
Sofia Margarita Vergara is a Colombian-American presenter and actress. Vergara was the highest paid actress on American television between 2013 until 2020.Vergara rose to prominence while hosting two TV shows for Spanish-language TV network Univision in the latter part of the 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's first major acting project in English. In the following years, she starred in Four Brothers (2005), Tyler Perry's Comedies Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009 which was nominated for an ALMA Award nomination). She first made her mark as Gloria Delgado–Pritchett on ABC's comedy series Modern Family in 2009. As a result of this role, she received four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she was a voice-over actor in animated films Happy Feet Two (2011), Escape from Planet Earth (2013) and The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was the highest-paid Hollywood actress of 2020[citation requiredfor 2020[citation needed]. Vergara is an American judge on America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was born in Barranquilla by a Roman Catholic couple. Her mother, Margarita Vergara de Vergara, was a homemaker, as was her father. Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo, was a rancher of cattle for the meat industry. Her siblings, five in all, and a number of her relatives have referred to her as "Toti". Vergara began her dental studies for three years at the National University of Colombia, but she was two semesters short of completing her degree to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
