Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sofer is an American
actressand model, well-known for her appearances in the daytime network,
occasional guest appearances as well as made-for TV movies. Sofer has won an
Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for her character Lois Cerullo on the soap show
General Hospital. Since 2013, she has played Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap show
The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was born in Arcadia (California) to Susan
Sofer and Martin Sofer. Martin Sofer is a Conservative Rabbi. Her family later
moved to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Sofer later moved along with her father
David Sofer, to Teaneck, New Jersey in 1970. They resided in Western
Pennsylvania when Sofer was five years old. They were raised in Ambridge,
Pennsylvania by their father, Beth Samuels Jewish Center. Later, she attended
the Frisch School, a coeducational Mordern Orthodox Jewish high school in
Paramus, New Jersey. Sofer lived in North Bergen where her father was the rabbi
of synagogue Temple Beth El. After having graduated from North Bergen High School
in 1998, she continued her education at Montclair State College. Sofer played
Lois Marie Cerullo for the first time on General Hospital. She first appeared
on television in 1993 as a manager for the band. Her first TV role was as Rocky
McKenzie, a daytime soap hosting host. Sofer is most likely best known for her
portrayal of Lois Cerullo on General Hospital (December 15 1993 - September 24
1996). In the following years, she was guest-starring on the show (February
7-17, 1997 from September 30th through October 2nd , 1997). Her performance as
the hilarious Lois won Sofer a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for the role of
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In May 2013 it was announced
that Sofer would be joining the CBS soap drama The Bold and the Beautiful with
a brand new role of Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on the 12th of July.
Sofer has appeared as a guest star/supporting cast member in a variety of
primetime high-profile TV shows, including Seinfeld and Melrose Place. Her
debut episode aired July 12.
