Renee Kathleen Zellweger
Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on
April 25 1969 in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfridirene (Andreassen) is a nurse
born in Norway, former and midwife, of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish) as well as
Swedish descent. Emil Erich Zellweger, her father, is a Swiss engineer. The two
are married in 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother, and he was born
February 15, 1967. Renee was a part of the drama club in high school, and was
attracted to acting. She also took an acting class at the University of Texas
(Austin) and began to look to pursue a career in acting. She was determined to
perform following her graduation, however Hollywood is not easy to break into.
Renee decided not to leave Texas and auditioned in Houston for roles. Matthew
McConaughey was another Hollywood newcomer she met while filming Texas Chainsaw
Massacre 2: The Next Generation (1994). He was working on an idea that Renee
was intrigued by. She auditioned for, and won the role in the film Love and a
.45 (1994), which was a huge success and earned her the praise of critics that
she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. She was then offered another part in
The Whole Wide World (1996) that gave her the biggest break of her career.
Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred
Tom Cruise. Crowe was thinking about actors like Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz),
Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder), and Marisa Tomei. He came across Zellweger's
performance at The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger and felt
confident the actress was the perfect Dorothy Boyd. After her successes in a
couple of independent films, Renee felt confident enough to make a return to
the huge-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep starred with her in One
True Thing (1998). She also played a part in Me, Myself & Irene (2000)
with Jim Carrey, and soon after she began dating Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary
(2001) as the title role.
