Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston), an executive director for national operations at Mary
Kay, and Freddie Wright an executive in the field of pharmaceuticals. Her
birthplace was San Diego, California. She began her career as a model in the
year 1980 when she was 14 years old, and also worked in Paris and Japan. She
chose to become an actress after she had graduated from high school. She got a
role on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three
times for a Daytime Emmy. She became a fan of Dane Witherspoon during the first
season. They got married in 1986. In 1987, she appeared in the role of the
title character in The Princess Bride. Following her departure from Santa
Barbara, she was offered the lead role in Denial (1990) as well as Jason
Patric. She got to know Sean Penn in 1990 while she was appearing in State of
Grace (1990). They had their daughter Dylan Frances with him and one son who
was named Hopper Jack. Robin returned to Hollywood following a break, and
landed one of her most famous roles: Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was an
amazing actress and a brilliant performer. She was a star in Toys (1992) which
was an comedy that starred Robin Williams. It was an extremely funny
performance. Wright was also in 1994's blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994),
acting alongside Tom Hanks. She received a nomination for the Golden Globe
Award in recognition of her performance as Jenny. The film gave her a small
role in The Crossing Guard (1995), starring Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14
roles, she was cast in the title role in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996),
directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing.
Together with William Hurt, she was then in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997).
