Yvonne Joyce Craig (May 16, 1937 - August 17 in 2015) was an American actress and ballet dancer famous for her part as Batgirl in the 1960s television series Batman as well as her role as the green-skinned Orion slave girl Marta in the Star Trek episode "Whom Gods Destroy" (1969). The Huffington Post referred to her as "a pioneer in female super heroes" on television. Yvonne Craig was born and was raised in Taylorville, Illinois. Her family relocated to Dallas in 1951. She was a student at W. H. Adamson High School, Sunset High School and then W. H. Adamson High School. Unfortunately, she didn't graduate because she was not awarded "one credits for PE". Craig was recognized by Alexandra Danilova (a ballerina and teacher) and joined the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in 1951, becoming the youngest corps de ballet member.
